title: Postage and Handling Not Included author: tony content: |

Cindy used her awesome graphic design skills to cook up several designs for these cards. We got it down to two designs, and we couldn't decide which one we liked better, so we used them both.

Our opinion of you, our honored potential guests, may have influenced our decision on which card to send. If you have chased eclipses in foreign countries or regularly watch South Park, you got design 1. If you are someone's mother-in-law or you live with someone who got design 1, you got design 2. :-) Sorry, married and almost-married couples, you only get one card for the pair of you. Please forgive us for being such cheapskates.

While Cindy contributed her design expertise, I cooked up several batches of mailing labels in various pretty script-like fonts for our consideration. (Perl and Postscript to the rescue!) I would have liked something less common than Zapf Chancery, but it turned out to be the most legible, so it was the winner.

Mental note. Add to list of people not to irritate: the people who handle my food; the people who carry my mail.

I don't know what the total production costs were, but they were certainly rather low. Maybe $40 for this whole run from postcards to mailing labels and postage -- and that's with a lot left over! This figure does not include actual design and labor costs, but those are pro bono because we're such nice people. :-)

Save the Date! Your cards are in the mail.
