    <p>I don't know why I've decided that having a blog around could be
    good.  I really don't.</p>

    <p>At least I will run the software on my own system, as opposed
    to letting some huge blog service run it for me.  I don't so much
    care about their features; blogging is ultimately some form of
    intellectual masturbation which, unless done sensibly, makes one
    appear as little more than a petulant teenage attention whore.</p>

    <p>Or so the cynical side of me states.  Other parts of me think this
    is much easier than maintaining a web site.  And given my hatred
    of HTML, that might be a good thing.</p>

    <p>Eh, we'll see where this goes.</p>
