I don't know if I have all that much to say about this 7-3 win, from a team perspective.

I do know that I tired out earlier than I should have. Whether this was a product of what I ate before the game, or just my conditioning in general, I don't know. For now, I will suspect that I could be in better shape; I work a desk job,I don't go to the gym regularly, and walking the dog won't exactly get me in shape for hockey.

But enough moping. Some of the more fun (but tiring) bits happened in the physical play. Some time in the second period I was racing back for the puck in our end, when I got shoved from behind by a faster opposing skater. Had I not been so close to the boards, he wouldn't have gone off for a penalty. Sure, I let out a cry of frustration as I fell -- no, it wasn't a girly scream, Scully -- but last I checked hitting from behind is considered dangerous. I don't hold it against the guy who hit me; I know he's a passionate and fiery player on the ice, but he seems like a decent enough human being in his civvies.

During a penalty kill, I spent a lot of time wrestling down low in front of the crease. Ultimately the puck found our net due to a lucky bounce off of someone's skate (not mine). I did get shoved about a bit, and even knocked over once. A teammate recommends I return the favor next time I have to wrestle.

The usual plug: If you feel like following the team, look for the Bay Area Bulldogs in Conference D of the Pacific Hockey Association.
