You know, if they had told me about this one little bit of SQL that we could have run as part of the deployment of this new feature on our production web sites at work, I would not be awake at 03:12 in the morning writing this.
Oh, just so you know, I woke up at about 05:30 yesterday morning. I tried to go to sleep at 01:45 this morning. It didn't work. At least I got good news on fixing the damn problem. Too bad we didn't simply put this in production at 21:30 like we wanted to. There's several hours of my life I'm not getting back.
Compensate us, preferably with a trip to visit the developers who didn't tell us about the magic button until many of us had lost sleep. At the least, I'd like to hear them apologize in person.
Update: It was the wrong magic button. But at least we solved the bloody problem.
We have no process, and we must scream.
