title: Season 2, Game 13: Bay Area Bulldogs vs. Red Barons category: hockey content: |

The Barons bring with them a lot of speed and skill, and a fairly clean game. So it's always a skating contest. And it's not always easy to prevent their #66 from cherry-picking.

We owned the third period, in terms of puck possession and time spent in the right end of the ice. Too bad the score didn't reflect that; one goal apiece. I did a good job keeping the puck in the offensive zone. We pulled the goalie and didn't get burned; I even had a couple of saves.

The second period felt even. One highlight for me was a shift where I blocked two shots.

It was the first where we stumbled. I was too panicky on defense, allowing myself to get sucked into the corners. This was quite frustrating. Their tendency to get breakaway goals is quite disturbing.

Utimately, 4-6 was the final score. Our second consecutive loss. I hope this is uncharacteristic of us. I also hope that a week off doesn't hose us every time; it certainly seems to do that.

The usual plug: If you feel like following the team, look for the Bay Area Bulldogs in Conference D of the Pacific Hockey Association.
